I knocked out 3 layouts today. None is big points winner but going through the "simple" photos, one event pictures and getting them done feels good.
First is from a day we spent at the zoo in Fort Worth with Lance and family, after the zoo Vince and I went to the Ft. Worth stockyards to have a cold one (or two)...
Second & third, was from a camping trip we did one year ago at the Blue River in Oklahoma. Blue River is our go to camp spot because of the trout fishing. It was a quick weekend and tent camping is hard work, we still had a good time.
I got knocked out of the top 5 on the leader board today, and these aren't going to get me back in the running but I feel good about what I got accomplished.
My current running point total is: 119
Have a great scrappy night.

CalvinBall 2019 Day 3 last layout for the day
I managed to get one more layout done tonight, I made homemade chicken & mushroom soup and it took way more of my scrappy time than I wanted.
I love these pictures of Chloe from when the kids lived in an apartment during the time that they were having their house built. She was only one but wanted to be outside all the time, which was probably because they were all crammed into a tiny one bedroom apartment. She would stand at the door, trying to turn the door knob saying "outs" over and over again.
I'm not happy with the way this layout came out but for now it's going to have to be okay - I've got lots of pictures to scrap and points to grab!
Day 3 and I've accomplished 12 layouts, I couldn't be happier.
I've spent a lot of time leaving comments on FaceBook and Instagram - it is a very big time suck, but one that I feel is important to the game of CalvinBall.
Currently my running point tally is 94.5 points, not wonderful but I appeared on the leaderboard this morning in 4th place - I'll take it.
Good night all
Happy scrappin,
~Jill

CalvinBall Day 3 - another layout done
This was a fun layout to do, I've had the photos or a while and it feels good to get it completed.
We try to go to the Grapevine Grapefest every September, I always beg Vince to ride the ferris wheel with me and he always has an excuse why he "can't"... well, this year I wasn't taking no for an answer. We had friends with us and they shamed him into riding it with me! He was not a fan.
I'm hoping to get another layout done tonight, after I get dinner made.
I spent some time commenting on 40 projects this afternoon - 4 more point! I know I enjoy seeing that someone looked at my project so I'm making an effort to share the love!
My current point total is 78.5
I hope everyone is having as much fun as I am.

Good Morning! #CalvinBall2019 Day 3
I had this page kit put together before CalvinBall and wanted to get it done, although it doesn't have many points I'm really glad it's done!
Todays CalvinBall added some fun new point grabbers - wood veneer, butterfly, stickers (and a few more).
I am crazy sore this morning after my tumble down the stairs yesterday, moving slow for sure.
This is Lance and Chloe when she was a few weeks old, we didn't think this would ever happen and are very grateful and thankful that modern medicine was able to help our family grow. There's nothing like the love you feel when your baby has a baby!
My point total is currently at 61.5, I checked the leader board this morning and was in 4th place, boo! Got to get to work creating layouts with points!
Have a happy scrappy day!

CalvinBall 2019 Day Two - layout 2
Blake Spring 2018
This is Blake's picture taken during the team photo shoot. He is loving soccer and doing extremely well, the advantage of having an older brother who cuts him NO slack. I think he is playing up this year which I hope will give him more of a challenge (although, in my heart of hearts I really want him to play baseball!)
Unless I unearth something else, I think I'm caught up with soccer pictures.
I didn't get nearly as much done today as I had hoped, Scrubby went fishing yesterday (we were supposed to go camping but the sleet & rain called it off). I helped make a nice trout dinner tonight. While trying to sneak in as much time as possible in the scrap loft I was rushing down the stairs and bit it - even though I am sore tonight I'm sure I'm really going to feel it tomorrow. As much as I want to work on another layout tonight I'm going to have to call it a night.
I am really enjoying CalvinBall and all of the ladies that are participating seem really supportive and nice.
My current running point total is now at 58.5....getting scrap done!
Happy Scrapping.

CalvinBall Day Two
JT Spring 2018
This is the individual photo done at team picture day, I completed this for JT's book, I wish I had another copy for my book but with as much as I need to create I'm not complaining.
JT probably won't be too happy with a blinged out soccer ball on his layout but I couldn't resist myself since it was added to the points today!
Today a point got added to use old product (5+ years or older) I thought that was cute considering most of my scrappy loft has nothing but stuff that is 5 years or older, oh well, win for me!!!
My running total of points so far is 49, I'll take it, lots of work to do to stay in the game. I was tied for 2nd place on the leader board this morning, go me! I've completed 8 layouts and that's 8 more than I had on Thursday.
Keep scrapping,
~Jill

#CalvinBall Day One 1 more layout
I took a quick look through my pile of photos that need to be scrapped that would work with the point maker of green. Well, what do you know I have more than a few soccer layouts to do, I was only able to get one done tonight, so here it is.
Day one 7 layouts, I would call that a success. Tomorrow won't give me as much time, we have a family birthday party to attend. (My nephew is turning 4!)
Current point tally is 41.5 points, I'll take it. (I had to adjust the points because I forgot to give myself a point for the actual layouts - duh!)
Good night scrappy folks.
~Jill
CalvinBall 2019 Day One - part Two
I finished another 2 page layout, it's the same road trip driving back to Frisco, Tx from South Padre with Mom and Al. On our way to Lana's the first leg we stopped in San Antonio to do the River Walk, we took the boat ride, had mexican food and a great day! (These photos of the layouts make the background paper look really blue, actually they are a beautiful shade of jade green)
I was going through my 2017 ephemera envelope to match stuff up with the photos I've printed and came across these cards that would fit the "green" point! So with that, why not knock them out?
Nothing fancy here just wanting to get them in the book!
Plus I added 14 additional points!
Hope everyone is having as much fun with CalvinBall that I am.
Stay Crafty,
~Jill
CalvinBall Day One!
You know you're excited when you get up in the middle of the night to visit the potty and you take your phone with you to check what the rules are for CalvinBall!!! I love that by completing layouts with the suggestion of game rules you get layouts that are different and unique!
This double page includes pictures from 2017, we were driving home (Frisco, Tx) from a week in South Padre, Tx with Mom and Al. We broke up the long (8 hour) drive by stopping into Chip & JoAnna Gains retail store Magnolia in Waco, Tx.
The rules from day one included the color green, floral patterned paper, enamel dot, and stars!
I struggled with the stars on these layouts, I added the dark green punch of the state of Texas and solved the problem by placing a star where Waco is located!
I was super excited to get all 4 rules on both pages!
Also claiming points from: 1st layout of CalvinBall, Early bird sign-up, Email list, FaceBook share, 10 comments, and this blog post!
Hope everyone is feeding their creative soul and having as much fun as I am playing CalvinBall!
Total so far: 14 points!
Keep it scrappy,

Well, I guess I'm going to give this another go.
CalvinBall 2019 is starting Friday March 1st. It has moved from Get It Scrapped (sadly they have closed) to FaceBook being hosted by Scrap Happy. I didn't participate in CalvinBall last year and barely dabbled in 2017. I have been continuing to create layouts to "get 'em done & in the books". I spent way too much loft time making cards the last couple of years and I've decided I'm not a card maker. I think because I play with paper I will always make the cards we need, but that's it. I'm ready to go at #CalvinBall2019 hard and get scrap done! I also realize that I enjoyed reliving my prior CalvinBall experience by way of this blog. (I stopped posting here because I finally figured out how to use the Get It Scrapped gallery, which I now regret.) I'm hoping to leave a log of my layouts from this game. (Maybe a way to keep track of the points?)
See ya, Friday or whenever I get a layout done for the game.
