My recent adventures...

I have stated before that I am the luckiest crafter in the world, well just to confirm that statement I need to share some additional "winnings".
Last month Michelle at Everyday Scrapbook did a giveaway on her blog to promote the wonderful craft frames that she is now manufacturing and featuring on her website. I think you will all agree when you see them that this is going to be an item that we all need one or more in our world. (she is doing some all natural for us artsy fartsy types that want to decorate our own, so keep your eyes open for those) Anyway, I was a winner on her blog!! I won these super fun Fancy Pants Designs Fashion Sense Felt shapes one is 'Tis The Season the other is Fall Harvest. I've already made a layout last night using these fun embellies.
This is the layout I made using these fun felt shapes, it is a submission for a contest going on over on Kathryn's blog for her 12 months of Christmas giveaway over here: http://thescrapbeach.blogspot.com/ she is keeping us honest this month and making us work for it! We were challenged to use a specific color combination of this:
So I made this:
Speaking of Kathryn, I also won a random drawing (using my favorite number-of course) during a UStream chat on the beach. She gave away a sample of my "Never lose again bookmarks", well, she also sent me this amazing jean pocket, I can't wait to find the perfect project to use it on!!
Also at the beach last month on the virtual crop I won this amazing Close to my Heart stamp set and glitter fun from Ruthie (a.k.a. Scrapchicky). I'm looking forward to using this set I've never played with CTMH product and have always heard good things about them.
So, that's what has been happening here in the loft on Jill's Life Adventure.
Stay tuned because I'm posting my first giveaway EVER!! I figure since I'm so stinking blessed with all the love that I receive in our crafty world it's my turn to share it... so make sure you check back in tomorrow.
Til then,
Have a happy scrappy Sunday! (I'm off to meet Debi from Oklahoma - another Beach Babe, at Ikea)

TIME WITH T!M....

(no last name necessary)

I was super lucky to get "the" picture, with the master!

Our round tables had 5 seats each, with this set up and lots of goodies in the center. (paper, paints, inks...etc)

Working on the project...

Look at the table of goodies that Mario shipped for us to scavenger thru...

The finished project, I LOVE IT!!

Some closeups of the goodness...

And you can't forget the back...

Mario brought my "Blog Post Candy" from winning on T!ms blog.

And wouldn't you know it, because I'm the luckiest crafter in the world I won a door prize...

Of course there are a ton more pictures and I had the best time with crafty friends, made some new ones, met a "you tube" bud...it was the day dreams are made from.
I am so fortunate to live so close to Stamp Asylum and to be able to play with Monica and her wonderful friends....thanks Monica!
Thank you for stopping by to check on my adventure...

Playing......

This past weekend was the Life on the {Scrap} Beach (ning site) one year Beach anniversary, it was celebrated by Kathryn hosting an on-line crop on Saturday. I participated in 4 of the 6 challenges. My favorite was a challenge named "Fearless". What is fearless? My take on that challenge was "Free from Fear". I love color, I love ALL color, after all, I am a Gemini... however, I have a real fear of bright (pumpkin) orange, if you know me is kind of funny since one of my favorite colors to play with is "burnt" orange, (a.k.a. - Longhorn Orange). I worked and worked this page, I knew what I wanted to do, but that dang bright pumpkin orange kept flashing it's neon color at me...grrrr! In the end the only way I was going to call it done (before titling) was to take pad to paper of Rangers Rusty Hinge Distress Ink. I was able to quickly finish the last couple of steps and enter the challenge.

What I found interesting while I was playing with the camera (trying to get a shot to enter the challenge), the story of this journal page is the same regardless of the obnoxious pumpkin orange, my beloved rusty hinge, or no color at all . Now, I am aware that not everyone gets the art journal concept, for me it's always been a place of peace...a way to practice a new technique, doodle, shading practice, or...work on my stamping (I do get lazy with from time to time). I am starting to embrace the "shared" product with the world....even tho I'm usually working thru a "private" story.

I completed the story of our May cruise with 12x12 layouts I worked on them during the crop (even tho they weren't part of the challenges...I needed to work on them). I will share with a post later.

Thanks for stopping in to check on my life adventure,
Have a healthy, happy day!

JT turns ONE!!

Can you believe that my grandson turned one yesterday? The year has flown by.
I fired up the cricut and went to work making the banner decoration.
This is the second party decoration banner that I have made this month. When you look at what stores like Party America are charging for banners it was a no brainier for us. Plus when you make them yourself you can adjust the size to fit for where you want to display them, plus personalize.

Thanks for stopping in to check on my recent adventure...
Have a happy scrappy week!

Must be doing something right!

I am one seriously lucky woman!!
Last week was the Craft and Hobby Association Convention in Chicago, and although I didn't attend, I did have a very fun week. I wasn't feeling very well so I spent a lot of time in bed on my laptop, blog hopping. I entered into a bunch of different giveaways and was lucky enough to win 2 of them.
From the Making Memories blog I won the Slice & Slice Hands Free System, it arrived safe and sound, I am very excited and can't wait to try it out.

From T!m Holtz blog I won a "surprise" summer 2010 CHA released item, It came yesterday and I was extremely pleased that it is the 100th Collection of his cling mount stamp set!!

Happy crafting is in my immediate future.
